Adult Christian Education
Adult Bible Study Class
Sunday Traditional Studies: Current Offering – "Paul Behaving Badly" - Did he - or not? Paul loved the Lord! Led by our Director of Adult Discipleship (and Doctor of Ministry candidate), Joe Crowley, 9:35am, Fellowship Hall.
The Sunday Contemporary Study: Current Offering - "God is NOT Dead"
“GOD'S NOT DEAD”. Based on the faith based movie by the same name. There will be 12 Christian Education workshops for Sunday school class with a leaders guide and selected video clips from the movie to help guide us through this journey. This is a truly inspiring story for all believers.
Paul Behaving Badly: Was the Apostle a Racist, Chauvinist Jerk?
8-week study based on the book by E. Randolph Richards and Brandon J. O'Brien.
A provocative look at why some popular negative attitudes about Paul might be way
off base! His detractors claim that he was arrogant and stubborn. He called his
opponents derogatory, racist names. He legitimized slavery and silenced women.
He was a moralistic, homophobic killjoy who imposed his narrow religious views on
others. Or was he? Join us as we explore the complicated persona and teachings of the apostle Paul.
Unpacking his personal history and cultural context, they show how Paul both offended Roman perspectives
and scandalized Jewish sensibilities. His vision of Christian faith was deeply disturbing to those in his day and
remains so in ours. Paul behaved badly, but not just in the ways we might think. Take another look at Paul
and see why this "worst of sinners" dares to say, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."
Tuesday/Wednesday Bible Study
Book of Acts, Part 2 (13 Weeks).
The church grew beyond Palestine to embrace the gentile world.
Chapters 13 through 28 tell this remarkable story of how the Gospel
reached our families – and how this growth sets the stage for us to
reach others in the world today. The story of “ACTS: Act II” is our story!
