Children’s Ministry

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL  

Children’s Sunday School will resume September 12.  The Sunday School Committee is hard at work planning some possible changes to our format for the Fall – more about these changes in coming issues of The Light.  I want to thank all those who have worked so hard to make this ministry a success for our youth.  

CHILDREN’S BULLETIN BOARD 

We are in the process of updating the children’s bulletin board on the wall in the Narthex toward the Nursery.   There will be a number of pictures and information displayed – especially regarding our VBS program.  We extend our thanks to Nancy Spears and Sherry McKnight for keeping the bulletin board up to date.     

YOUTH GROUP  – Jodi Butterworth  

Our youth group meets in Fellowship Hall from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month, beginning September 8 with Jodi Butterworth as leader.   All youth 12 and older are welcome to attend. 

NURSERY – We want to thank Linda Robertson and Donald and June Allison for tending our Nursery on Sunday mornings.    During the summer months we hope to keep the Nursery open during the second service, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you would like to help in the Nursery one or two Sundays a month, please contact Don Bortz at 705-5472 or donb@hargray.com. 

Adult Ministry

MEN OF PURPOSE 

Men of Purpose is closing its term of study in May with 3 independent lessons led by various facilitators.  Please join them on Saturday mornings at 7:45 in the Rose Room for coffee and goodies – and bring a friend!   Men of Purpose will resume again on September 18 with another interesting and enjoyable program.   

EFIRD BIBLE STUDY SERIES: THE PASSION NARRATIVES

Dr. Efird’s video teaching method is very relaxed, and he uses “user friendly” language.   This class meets from 9:40 to 10:20 each Sunday morning and is studying the Passion Narratives.  This is an in-depth Bible study and believe it or not, it’s just plain enjoyable!  PLEASE JOIN US IN THE ROSE ROOM THIS SUNDAY MORNING.    

IN THE ROSE ROOM - DR. McCREIGHT'S WOMEN'S & MEN'S BIBLE STUDY 

Women’s Bible Study meets on Tuesday at 10:00 am and Men’s Bible Study meets on Wednesday at 9:00 am.   Dr. John McCreight, our Parish Associate, leads these discussion-oriented classes in the study of the Gospel of Mark.   Invite a friend and come to class.  You will enjoy the fun of learning more about the Bible.   The Gospel of Mark by William Barclay is our text.  Both Bible study classes resume September 7 (women) and 8 (men).
