Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What time are your services?

A. We gather for worship in our beautiful sanctuary every Sunday at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

Q. What should I wear?

A. We do not have a dress code. However, most folks wear things ranging from suits and dresses to khakis and polos.

Q. What are services like?

A. Both of our services are traditional in style. You will hear the organ and piano, a call to worship, unison prayer of confession, scripture and sermon.

Our 8:30 AM service is smaller, slightly more meditative, and only has the chancel choir on the first Sunday of each month. Our 10:30 AM service is fuller, has a bit more enthusiasm, and choir every week.

Q. Is there coffee hour?

A. After both services there is time for coffee, refreshments, and conversation. We hope you will join us so we can greet you and get to know you.

Q. Do you have Communion every week?

A. We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month by intinction. This means that when an usher invites you forward, you take a piece of bread and dip it in the cup. Instructions are provided in the bulletin on Communion Sunday's.

Q. What denomination is Lowcountry Presbyterian Church?

A. LPC is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). You can find more information about the PC(USA) on their website.

Q. What kind of educational opportunities do you offer?

A. Sunday school is provided between our two services. The youth meet with Coach Josh Fox in our Fellowship Hall. We have two different adult class offerings. One focuses on current events and meets in the parlor. The second class focuses on the scripture preached on that Sunday and is co-led by our pastors. Ask anyone with a name tag for instructions on finding Fellowship Hall, the Parlor, or the Children's Room. We also offer various Bible studies and book studies throughout the week. See our Christian Education page for more information.

Q. Is childcare provided?

A. Yes. We have a nursery for children under 4 years old during our 10:30 AM service.

Q. Where are you located?

A. LPC is located at the corner of Highway 278 and Simmonsville Road across from Jim and Nicks and catercorner to Kroger.
