The Mission Study is a summary of the history of Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, our core values and strengths, and any changes we foresee in the near future.

The Mission Study will be provided to the Commission on Ministry of Charleston Atlantic Presbytery and the Pastor Nominating Committee to guide them in the selection of our next pastor.

Mission Study volunteers include Sandy Iams, Alane Peragallo, and Jan Alpert. Since only about 15% of our Membership attended the workshops in August and November to discuss the present and future of LPC, the Mission Study group has prepared a brief Questionnaire so all members of LPC have an opportunity to provide their perspective on these important areas.

The Questionnaire is available electronically by clicking below. You can access the form and complete the questions online. Responses will be anonymous, and only the compiled results will be shared. We encourage members to complete the form over the next few days and no later than January 15, so the study group can analyze the data and include it in the Mission Study, which will be presented to members at the Annual Meeting on January 25.

For members who have limited access to a computer or tablet, paper copies are available in the Narthex, or you can pick up a copy in the office this week.

For those completing a paper copy, please bring it to Christy during office hours or to church no later than Sunday, January 18, where a basket will be provided in the Narthex for the completed forms.

Ordination of Elders
Next Sunday during worship, elders for the class of 2028 will be ordained and installed. Kathleen Casey, Don Hamburger, Vicki Melton, and Patti Rozonkiewiecz. Two-year term Class of 2027: Jan Alpert, and a one-year term Class of 2026: Pam Davis-Webb and Bill Walker.
Congregational Meeting
The Session has called a Congregational Meeting following worship on January 25th to receive the Annual Report and conduct official business.
Backpack Buddies
Packing will take place on Tuesday, January 6th, at Red Cedar Elementary. The food won’t be arriving at the school until 3:15 so volunteers should also plan to arrive at that time. If you plan to help please let John Abernethy know at jagolf@aol.com. Remaining packing dates are, March 3rd, and May 5th.
Change Can Make A Change.
The Change Can Make a Change collection
January will support the work of Memory Matters, which has locations on Hilton Head and Bluffton. This non-profit sponsors professional memory care programs, support and services for caregivers and individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, while providing brain health education to the community.
Fall Bible Study
“The Sermon On The Mount” Bible Study will reconvene Tuesdays at 2:15pm beginning January 13th.
