Second Saturday for Men: While You Wait
December 14 at 9 a.m.
Advent is a season of waiting. Waiting for the Messiah to come, waiting for light to break into the darkness, waiting for Jesus’ birth. Much of our lives are spent waiting. Waiting on hold, waiting for an appointment, waiting for life to get better. On December 14th, 2nd Saturday for Men will meet in the parlor to talk about active and productive waiting. I can barely wait.

Holy Envy - Finding God in the Faith of Others
How do you let people who believe in something completely different strengthen your own faith?
Barbara Brown Taylor leaned into these lessons when she taught a Religion 101 class at Piedmont College in Georgia. As part of the course, Taylor invited members of different faiths into the classroom to share their beliefs. She also brought her students, who were mostly Christian, to mosques, synagogues and Buddhist and Hindu temples in an effort to help them better understand how various groups worship. In return, she was able to deepen her own faith and extend hospitality and love to others in her own life. Taylor writes about how teaching the different religions changed her students’ understanding of faith, as well as her own in her memoir, Holy Envy - Finding God in the Faith of Others.
Women of Faith is open to all LPC women, friends and visitors. The group meets every second Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Parlor to engage with God’s word in community.
Holy Envy will be the focus book from September-May. The book is available on Amazon or wherever you prefer to buy your reading material.
Men of Purpose,

We will continue discussing FREEING JESUS by Diana Butler Bass, an author who has peaked our interest. We will be concentrating on Jesus as THE WAY. Meetings are at 9 am Saturday mornings in the church parlor.
The author shares how her experience with Jesus has changed over the years – viewing him as friend, teacher, savior, Lord, way and presence.
